Salutations people! Do you know someone named Achilles? He just died yesterday, and I am writing about how he died and what happened before he died.

Achilles is the son of Peleus and Thetis. A smart centaur named Chiron educated him. He's half man half horse. Achilles' mother is a sea nymph. Someone said that Achilles will die in a war and will bring so much sadness to his mother. Because of this, his parents became too protective of Achilles.

Without the father knowing, the mother secretly put him in the fire at night, to prevent him from dieing. He was also rubbed by ambrosia during the day. If she did this every day, Achilles will not die. But sadly, one night Peleus saw Thetis putting him in the fire. Peleus didn't let her put him in the fire, so one day Peleus will die.

But Thetis wouldn't give up! She was so a stubborn! Thetis dipped him in the Styx River; to make him immortal. But Thetis holds Achilles by the heels, so the water can't touch the heels. Achilles could die if there's a wound in his heel. That is about Achilles' past.

A month ago, when the Greeks began to create an army, the parents didn't want Achilles to die, so they hid him in Sycros, dressed as a girl, to work as a spinning weaving girl.

But the Greeks couldn't control Troy without Achilles. Ulysses come to Sycros as a peddler, and was selling weapons among the girls. As you know, girls don't have any interest in weapons. But men will. Ulysses saw a spinning girl that showed interest in weapons. Pretty soon, Ulysses knew that he was Achilles.

Achilles was a very good leader. Many of the Troy people die. Two weeks before, Achilles is fighting with Agamemnon because of a maiden. Achilles was angry and grumbling, so he didn't want to take part with the battle of Troy. A week before, Hector killed his friend, Patroculus, to make Achilles go to battle. Achilles was angry and mad, and he killed Hector 5 days ago and joined the battle.

Yesterday, Apollo shot Achilles with an arrow at his heel during the battle with Paris. Achilles died.
