Students in grades 7 to 10 participate in the IB Middle Years Programme.
The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) Middle Years Program (MYP) provides a framework of academic challenge and life skills for student ages 13 – 15 years. Students at this stage, early puberty to mid-adolescence are in a particularly critical phase of personal and intellectual development.
This is a time of uncertainty, sensitivity, resistance and questioning. As such, an educational programme needs to provide students with creativity and flexibility.
The IBO and Sekolah Pelita Harapan International build their programme around these considerations and is also concerned that students develop a personal value system by which to guide their own lives as thought members of local communities and the large world. Sekolah Pelita Harapan International emphasizes Christ’s teaching as the basis of this personal value system.
